The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office is looking for and attempting to apprehend a shooter who claimed one victim on Monday, Aug. 12. The shooter is still on the loose – though law enforcement officials doubt that county residents are in danger since the incident appears to be isolated and there’s no evidence supporting the theory that others are currently in danger from the perpetrator.

Guilford County Sheriff Danny Rogers reported to the media that, on August 12, at roughly 4 p.m., Guilford County deputies responded to a shooting incident at 4923 Watlington Road in Greensboro. That area is just south of Greensboro’s Northern Loop (Interstate 840), just north of Lees Chapel Road and west of Yanceyville Street.

When they arrived, the deputies discovered the victim, 67-year-old Robert Eugene Snow, who has sustained a gunshot wound that resulted in life-threatening injuries.

According to the report from the Sheriff’s Office, Snow was quickly taken to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.

The department reports, “As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident. However, the evidence obtained by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office so far indicates that this is an isolated incident with no active threat to the community.”

According to a statement on the case released by law enforcement officials, the investigation is “ongoing,” and, as is common practice in these matters, no further information will be released at this time.
