The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office put out new notice on Thursday, Jan. 30 that it needs the public’s help in its search for David Sylvester Mobley – a missing person who was last seen in either February or March of 2024.
In a brief statement released by the department on Thursday, law enforcement officials state, “We appreciate the continued support of the community and ask for your help in spreading the word. If you have any information regarding Mr. Mobley’s whereabouts, please contact Detective J. M. Allen at 336-641-2799 or Guilford County Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.”
In the original release sent out regarding the quest for Mobley (pictured above) nearly a year ago, the Sheriff’s Office reported the 49-year-old David Sylvester Mobley as a missing person.
Mobley is a 5’5” black male who weighed about 115 pounds in early 2024.
His daughter’s name, Samiya, is tattooed on one of his forearms in Chinese or Arabic, and he was last seen possibly wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a snapback hat.
He was known to frequent several areas in Greensboro, including areas along US 29, Bessemer Ave., Summit Ave., Landerwood Dr., Freeman Mill Rd., McConnell Rd. and Memphis St.
If you have any information at all regarding the whereabouts of David Mobley, you’re being asked to contact Detective J.M. Allen at the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office at 336-641-2799, or, alternatively, call Guilford County Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
His family members have described him as “bubbly, caring and funny.”
“I can feel something isn’t right,” his sister Danica Mobley said.
Mobley is one of three triplets in that family and his siblings – Danica wants desperately to see him again and know what happened to him.
Dacia Mobley, another sister, told News 2 last year that the three were a tight-knit group.
“We do things on holidays, birthdays, Christmas,” she said. “We get together. We have family cookouts. We get together and go to church together. We do things all as a family and now that he is not in the picture… it’s so… it’s different,” Dacia Mobley said with tears running down her face.
Last Summer, Greensboro’s News 2 ran the story on David Mobley.
His sister said she often calls his phone number in an attempt to get in touch with him.
“I’ve been looking every day,” she told News 2 last year. “I don’t know where to look – but as I’m driving and I’m going places. I pass a hotel, I pass a place, I’m looking.”
Family members say the family has lost too many people to death lately and they prey he is still alive.
