Integrated Power Services  –  a global company in electrical, mechanical, and power management systems – has officially opened a new business development center in Greensboro.

The new office is located at 1050 Revolution Mill Road.

The Greensboro center will act as an extension of Integrated Power Services corporate headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina, and will primarily focus on sales.

The company has plans to add 60 new positions at the center over the next three years, with an average starting salary of $60,000 plus commission.

Greensboro, in recent years, has seen an influx of all types of businesses and projects and the strong trends continue.

“We have 10 business development professionals working in our new space already, and we’re in the process of adding five more,” said Katie Chung, the Business Development Center’s area general manager.

To help support the new hires, Integrated Power Services has received five “On-the-Job” Training Grants through GuilfordWorks, Guilford County’s Workforce Development Board.

The grants are designed to help companies cover training costs for full-time, permanent positions for up to six months.

“The grants are a great win-win for companies like IPS and residents of Guilford County,” Chung said. “It allows us to ramp up our team fast.”

The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce has been closely involved in the company’s move to the area, helping it make local business connections and find support services—such as Wilkins Design Group, which handled the office build-out.

Greensboro’s mayor was of course pleased.

“IPS is a welcome addition to our manufacturing hub and local economy,” Mayor Nancy Vaughan said this week. “This business development center will bolster the number of high-paying jobs available in Greensboro, keeping us competitive.”

Chairman of the Guilford County Board of Commissioners Skip Alston was also delighted. He echoed Vaughan’s excitement, noting that the move strengthens the link between local colleges and job opportunities.

“This is a pipeline for local graduates to step into high-quality jobs and drive long-term growth,” Alston said, adding that it was a “win for our county, our citizens, and our future.”

The project came together with help from the Guilford County Economic Development Alliance, which includes the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and the High Point Economic Development Corporation – along with a broad group of partners: the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, North Carolina Department of Commerce, the City of Greensboro, Guilford County and several local universities and utility providers.
