On Tuesday night, May 23, Guilford County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of the murder of a 73-year-old woman who was allegedly shot by her son.
The suspect is now in custody and the Sheriff’s Department is looking for answers regarding motive and other matters.
According to an account from the Sheriff’s Department, at 8:09 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to 111 E. Steeple Chase Road, which is off Randleman Road in unincorporated Guilford County, due to a call regarding a homicide. The victim was Sherry Bradley. When officers arrived, they found Bradley dead inside the home with the cause of death being “multiple gunshot wounds.”
The suspect, now in custody, is Adam Lee Bradley, the victim’s 46-year-old adult son (pictured above). He resided at 5179 Huff Court in Randleman.
He’s being held on a charge of first degree murder. The Sheriff’s Department sent out a press release noting that this was an isolated incident and that there’s no risk to the public stemming from the case at this time.
The Sheriff’s Department, in that press release, also stated that the department wanted to thank the Greensboro Police Department as well as the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with the apprehension of the suspected shooter.
Adam Bradley is being held in the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro under no bond until his first court appearance.
