Veterans from across central North Carolina are encouraged to attend a major event that can help them out: the 2023 Veterans Benefit Live/VA in My Town event.
The three-day affair will be hosted at The Lofts at Congdon Yards in High Point from Thursday, July 20 to Saturday, July 22.
Over the three-day period, veterans will get a chance to have all their questions answered in order to be assured they’re getting the assistance they need from a wide variety of services being offered through the VA Regional Office.
The annual event – which is dedicated “to the overall well-being of our veterans” – is being hosted by the Guilford County Veterans Services Office, the Heroes Center, High Point Veterans Initiative, Business High Point -Chamber of Commerce, and Visit High Point.
It’s completely free and veterans will get one-on-one assistance with benefits and disability claims. Also, new this year, the event includes information about the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act – an act meant to ensure veterans stay informed about important developments regarding their benefits.
The 2023 Veterans Benefits Live event will also feature a lot of vendors and community partners who are committed to making a positive impact on Veteran’s lives.
Services offered include mental health resources, support for veterans experiencing homelessness, information on low-income housing, home loan opportunities and other resources designed to benefit veterans and their families.
The organizers promise “a comprehensive selection of offerings that address the unique needs of this deserving community.”
Hours run as follows:
- Thursday, July 20: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Friday, July 21: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Saturday, July 22: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
It will take place at The Lofts at Congdon Yards – the fourth floor – at 400 W. English Road in High Point.
Why would anyone suggest or recommend a young person to join the military? If there is one government agency that cannot go “woke” for the sake of our country, it is the Department of Defense. Yet, that is what is happening. The best way to fight against this is to deny the military the recruits needed. A large share of the recruits are young, southern, White males. Why would a YSWM join a “woke” military to fight for a “woke” government?
