Summer means a lot of things to a lot of people, but for theater fans in High Point it means the kick-off of a new season of exciting shows.
On Friday night, July 29, the High Point Theatre is presenting its first performance of the new 2022-2023 season with “Yesterday: A Tribute to the Beatles,” which will start at 7:30 p.m.
The tribute has been “endorsed by Sir Paul McCartney” – and theater promotional materials note that this “legendary tribute performance invites fans to experience the Beatles through their legacy of music that has captured audiences for decades.”
The tribute band got its start in 1986 as a project of John Lennon impersonator Don Bellezzo. Since then, the band has gained a lot of notoriety for their accurate impersonations of what has to be considered one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time.
“This particular showcase is sure to take fans back in time,” said David Briggs, the director of the High Point Theatre. “The Beatles are iconic and classic, and the band does an exceptional job reliving those nostalgic moments in music and beyond.”
As usual, discounts of $5 per ticket are available for High Point residents and for groups of 10 or more. To get the city resident discount, people have to call the box office directly at (336) 887-3001 from Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m.
