Someone came across an alarming discovery in the woods along Alamance Church Road in Guilford County – human remains.
On Thursday, Oct. 17, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office reported that, at roughly 11:30 a.m., deputies on patrol in the Sheriff’s Office’s District 2 area responded to a 911 call regarding the discovery of human remains in a wooded area.
Deputies arrived at the scene, near 1465 Alamance Church Road, and confirmed that the findings were what the caller thought them to be – human remains consisting
primarily of skeletal bones.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Investigative Unit are now working to determine the identity as well as the cause of death. This investigation is active and ongoing.
The Thursday release from the Office states, “There is no further information to share.”
Detectives are asking the public for help in this investigation.
