Do you find that you start your day with good intentions to be productive and then, nearly right from the start, the realities of life and the world intrude and throw you off your game plan – and you end up just firefighting those unexpected fires like you do every day?
Would you like to have a more efficient and strategic plan for getting things done in the coming year?
Well, if so, the Greensboro Public Library might just have an event that you’ll be very interested in in two weeks: a presentation by an author and expert on time management who’ll speak about her bestseller on that very subject and who will also be giving out tips from that new book.
The Greensboro Public Library is hosting New York Times bestselling author and nationally ranked podcaster Kendra Adachi for tea as well as a discussion of her new time management book “The PLAN. ”
Adachi will share her unique time management strategies on Friday, Jan. 10 at Central Library at 219 N. Church St. in Greensboro.
City of Greensboro Deputy Human Rights Director Maria Hicks-Few will moderate the conversation.
The event is free and open to the public and, of course, books will be available for purchase.
The program is being co-sponsored by the City of Greensboro Office of Equity and Engagement and Organizational Effectiveness and Development.
According to library officials, in The PLAN. Adachi “brings her signature energy to a practical time management book for people weary of productivity but eager to live a good life.”
The book’s advice is structured around the P-L-A-N acronym (prepare, live, adjust and notice) and it encourages people to focus on what matters at the current stage of the process rather than get sidetracked by distractions.
In addition to The PLAN, Adachi is the author of The Lazy Genius Way and The Lazy Genius Kitchen.
Her podcast, The Lazy Genius– which covers everything from cooking hacks to making friends – has seen over 15 million downloads.
The promotional material for the new book on Amazon states: “The author of The Lazy Genius Way brings her signature Kind Big Sister Energy to a practical time management book for people weary of productivity but eager to live a good life” and adds, “If productivity systems tend to let you down, reading The PLAN will be such a relief…..Most time-management books leave you feeling inadequate, focusing on greatness and optimization. But what if you want to simply live your life without chasing productivity at every turn? Is there a way to manage your time without being at its mercy? Absolutely, and The PLAN will show you how.”
The book is described as “refreshingly compassionate,” and “immediately practical.”
