Concerns About Artificial Lifeforms
Dear Editor,
Scientists are now capable of “creating” synthetic embryos.
First, they gave us artificial intelligence. Now they are giving us artificial lifeforms. I don’t think that scientists should be creating synthetic embryos, especially when they are created by using human embryonic stem cells.
I am also unhappy about the 14-day rule. I wish that there was a law, or constitutional amendment, that stated that no embryo used in a lab can be destroyed. I also think that it should be illegal to destroy human embryos that have been frozen. “Creating” and using human embryos for medical experimentation is wrong.
I wonder would happen if scientists tried to download an AI into a synthetic lifeform.
Chuck Mann
This country needs a big dose of common sense before AI.
Hey Chuck, you would have a Joe Biden.
Strangely, I find myself becoming appreciative of Chuck’s letters. His reasoning often seems disjointed, but becomes apparent upon examination.
It was the same with an oddball British comedian called Spike Milligan, who was a comic genius but was certified as clinically insane on more than one occasion (not casting aspersions, Chuck).
Spike’s gravestone is famously inscribed :
” See…! I told you I was sick”. – Always the comedian.
God bless you Spike, and thanks for all the laughs.
And one more thing :
“God Save the Queen…. man”.
well done Austin
