Today in Burlington I saw the best bumper sticker of this presidential season. To be honest, I haven’t seen many. Reason for that, I believe, is a lot of people just don’t want the world to know how they’re voting. That’s sad to me. Anyway, this bumper sticker showed a picture of Hillary habitual-liar Clinton that read: Liar, Liar, Pantsuit on Fire. That knocked it out of the park for me and more than made my day.

There was fuss to the nut that don’t know the difference between the Black Panther Party and the Dudley High School Panthers. The party was established in 1964. DHS Panther mascot was established in 1942. There are times when a person life they have to genuflect ignorance. I am a graduate of Dudley High Class of 1955. There were only two high schools, senior high and DHS. Today there is only one high school that is named senior, the Pirates, the Eagles. Whirlies came later. Yes, this is in regards to the caller who called in about what real men can do and can’t do and what they should be able to do. So, I’m gathering by what you said, because real men can choose to do whatever they want to. And, then, you mentioned something about abortion. It’s really saying that you feel that way, that women should have the free choice to be able to kill their unborn babies. And it’s sad that unborn babies, you know, are not able to choose life. And, evidently, you must feel that unborn babies don’t have any rights when actually they do. So, anyway, you think about it. I noticed in our water bill, on the little paper they put in there that the water rates went up 4.5 percent. And, also, a really good thing is that your vehicle tax, when you’re paying $10 to own a vehicle in Greensboro, now you’re going to be paying $30. That’s only a 200-percent increase. And I guess that’s to pay for the 60 percent increase that the fools up there voted their selves in a raise. I tell you, if you got a chance and you get to vote for somebody, if there’s a monkey running, vote for the monkey. I’m pretty sure he can do a better job than what we’ve got up there right now. Hello. I’m calling in regards to the athlete that is on the San Francisco 49ers that refused to stand up for the national anthem. His name is Colin. I can’t pronounce his last name. But I just want to say, if you are an athlete making $140 million a year, and you’re on the NFL, and you refuse to stand up for the national anthem, I just want to say, how dare you do that when you’ve got troops fighting for us, and for you to be out there playing on the field making all that money, and the troops are out there making like $30,000 a year. And you won’t even stand up in support of them. I feel like that’s kind of dirty. And I think it’s time for Roger Goodell to stand up and do something about him.

NPR’s Weekend Edition graced us with an analysis of Hillary Clinton’s character. “Oh, this will be good,” I thought to myself. The new book, which directly addresses the issue, Crisis of Character, was not even mentioned, because it outlines the true nature of this dreadful little harpie. Obscenities, shrieking, violent outbursts and even minor assaults were not unusual when Hillary was behind the White House’s closed doors. NPR chose not to mention this aspect of her character, and went on to suggest that any such criticism was rooted in sexism and bigotry. But it’s not sexism. Hillary is an arrogant venomous shrew with a violent temper. Her nature is shrill and abrasive, and probably accounts for her conspicuous failure as a diplomat. This is not sexism. The warmed-over witch from the last century is just a very unpleasant person with a chronic mendacity problem. She makes Nixon look like a choirboy. Just sign me off as An Independent Thinker.

Hi. I found it’s fairly obvious, very obvious, that people do not have any clues anymore about how to drive. You are not supposed to be on the left side of the yellow line, the double yellow line that goes down the middle of the road, unless you are passing someone. Uber cars should have to be registered as commercial vehicles like any other company providing the exact same service. Taxicabs and transportation services have to register their cars as commercial vehicles and apply commercial license plates to the car. And in conjunction with that have commercial insurance. But, you see, Uber, they’re special. They don’t have to even though they provide the exact same service, they do not have to register their cars as commercial vehicles. There should be an amendment to Senate Bill 541 to require Uber to register their cars as commercial vehicles. There is no gray area. Either it is a personal car or commercial car. If it’s a personal car, you run personal license plates, you cannot use it for commercial use such as a taxi.

In Orson Scott Card’s praise of Tom Cruise, I found it very telling that he never mentioned Cruise’s performance in the movie, A Few Good Men. I have never seen a more blatantly overacted performance in my life. And this is a guy that Mr. Card says always gives such a nuance performance? All I can say is, Mr. Card wasn’t watching the same Tom Cruise that I was watching.

You know what? I was watching TV, and they’ve been running a lot of clothing line, anti-Trump commercials lately. And I thought it was kind of hilarious when I saw it, because it shows Donald Trump and Dave Letterman on The Tonight Show talking about his ties and where they came from, his shirts, all that sort of stuff. And I think it’s downright hilarious, because you got to remember Jay Leno was The Tonight Show host after him for about a good 10, maybe 11, years. And after him, now they have someone else doing the show, because, you know, Jay also stepped down. So, you got to think about it. That commercial that they’re airing with Trump talking about his shirts and where they were made and stuff and all that information is probably very outdated, because Dave Letterman has not done The Tonight Show in almost 15 years.

No nothing available for that candidate. Went to Davidson County, still nothing available at the GOP headquarters. You know, out of curiosity, I went down off of Merritt Drive and checked out the Democratic headquarters, and they have signs for the 6th and the 13th Districts already out and all over Greensboro. Yes, I’m calling in regards to the teachers’ salaries that the governor and Trudy Wade is saying is $50,000 for an average teacher. Now that is completely baloney. My daughter has been a teacher for 21 years. She makes $41,000 last year. This year with this new fantastic raise, she’s going to making $42,200. The City Council must not think much of the intelligence of the voters in Greensboro. They have indicated that they haven’t raised taxes for the 10th consecutive year. However, they have increased water and sewer rates 4.5 percent, and vehicle license fees increased $20 to a total of $30. These are some significant increases in a town that’s already known for having significantly higher property tax rates than Raleigh and Charlotte and many other surrounding areas. And on top of that, they think the voters in Greensboro are stupid enough to vote themselves a tax increase. It’s called the bond issues. And with the existing $60 million in leftover monies from previous bonds, it just seems like this council just can’t get its hands on enough money to spend.

I just heard on the news that The New York Times among comments about the voting laws here in North Carolina. My grandson lives in New York City. I hear people call in and complain about the salaries of people that work for the school system and how much money they make, these are taxpayer dollars paying for this. When are they going to start complaining about the same people doing the same job in charter schools? Oh, wait a minute. They can’t, because charter schools don’t have to disclose any of that information. So they take taxpayer dollars and have no written accountability for it, no transparency whatsoever. That’s why I can never be behind a charter school.
