Actions Speak Louder Than Words
Dear Editor,
On Wednesday, Sept. 6, the Biden administration announced it had cancelled several Alaskan oil exploration leases that had been approved in early 2021.
The Department of the Interior simultaneously declared a new initiative to block exploration in 13 million acres of the North Slope.
Interior Secretary Deb Haaland declared that these measures would “help the US fight climate change”.
Alaska US Sen. Dan Sullivan didn’t feel it necessary to address such tenuous and illusory claims, describing these measures as “an assault on our economy” and “devastating for … the energy security of the nation.” He also cited the Biden administration’s 55 executive orders and “actions” that have targeted oil and gas exploration in his state.
This comes just days after the administration’s efforts to further restrict drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
Well, what can you expect from the guy who killed the Keystone Pipeline with a stroke of his pen on his first day in office?
Democrats will deny, deny and deny that they are deliberately crippling our ability to meet our energy needs. They will deny that they are deliberately driving up the price of gasoline and diesel. They will deny that they resent and despise the private automobile, and the personal freedom it gives us.
But do you believe them?
Austin Morris
Austin,
I wondered how long this would take.
I was in Alaska back during the construction of the pipeline and when the first drop of oil flowed through it
and I can tell you first hand about how one of the main, if not THE main point of discussion was the impact this would have on the environment. I can also tell you that animals and the environment has more rights then people, which to some extent I don’t have a problem with.
Something most people don’t know is the State shares the income from the line with every man, woman, and child in the State. They all get a check annually from the State. But at the same time the citizens watch what happens environmentally and get ugly if somebody screws it up.
It all boils down to the (National Socialist) Democrat Party’s desire and attempts to gain more control over the freedom loving citizens of the United States of America and recreate it as the Socialist States of Amerika.
Molon Labe my friend
How does not allowing private companies to drill on fragile federal land equate to Americans losing their freedoms? Oh right….you are just being over dramatic as usual.
“Fragile Federal Land”…? Are you mentally ill? Alaska has existed for millennia, without any help by being characterized as Federal.
The Unpopulated Barren Arctic Tundra (UBAT) that the Left absurdly names ANWR is a huge area of nothingness. It’s an absolutely perfect area for oil and gas exploration – but the Left opposes it anyway. That’s how unhinged their Jihad against oil has become.
Pretty soon Democrats will be gluing themselves to the roads and throwing paint on medieval oil paintings so as to…. what, exactly?
They’re mentally ill like you, Chrissy.
Keep in mind that these oil leases that Austin is so upset about have been idle for years. They were just a way for oil companies to show reserves on their books. Nothing more. There was very little infrastructure to support actual drilling in the area such as power, pipelines, roads, etc… This is mostly just optics. But let the drama queens like Alan and Austin have their fit.
Oh, by the way, the US remains energy independent under Biden just it was under Trump. This doesn’t change that. Energy independence metric is actually higher under Biden than it was under Trump. In May it actually reached a 70 year high.
Austin doesn’t like facts that don’t support his personal bias, so I am happy to share the truth he chose to leave out of his little rant.
Happy to help!
Austin,
First off I am honored to have been associated with you, even if it’s by Chris/chris/whatever
As for “… the US remains energy independent under Biden just it was under Trump.” would you please explain how our national oil reserve is down due to the mouthpiece of the (National Socialist) Democrat Party Biden raiding it. And in fact there is more talk of tapping it again, even though there is no plan to restore it to the necessary level.
Finally, if the independence metric is so high, why are we going hat in hand to OPEC begging for more oil, lower per barrel prices, and looking at possible $4.00 to $5.00 a gallon prices here in NC.
Oh, and BTW…”Happy to help!”…by throwing a drowning man an anvil.
Austin, please feel free to join in my friend
Oil reserve doesn’t play into the equation on energy independence. Why would you think it would?
Energy independence doesn’t mean we don’t import oil….as many MAGA idiots thought it did when Trump bragged about it…oops…is that you too? It just means we produce more overall energy than we use in total but not across all categories.
Do some basic research before diving into the conversation. Your reliance on Austin will leave you with nothing more than conspiracy theories and anti-science propaganda.
This is the source I used.

You’re right, Alan.
I didn’t respond to Chrissy because he didn’t actually try refute a single statement in my letter; he just went off on a tangent. Leftists invariably do this when confronted with reality. And he’s not worth the time anyway. Over the years he’s amply demonstrated his sub-par intellect and oversized ego. He’s just a tiresome tosser.
It’s also true that Trump filled up the Strategic Petroleum Reserve at $40 a barrel, and Biden has depleted it to disguise the effect of his policies on gas prices. This has made America extremely vulnerable to oil price shocks. We’ll also have to refill the SPR at much higher prices to reinstate any degree of strategic independence. So the Democrats have harmed this country in a myriad of ways, and that’s only in reference to our energy needs.
And I appreciate your support! I’m a typical Brit, enjoy a beer, and I’ll probably be at Jake’s Billiards on Spring Garden Street on Monday, around 3pm or so. I’ll be in a white golf shirt and blue jeans (or blue shorts). The staff will know me if you can’t identify me.
The beer’s on me.
Cheers!
Thank you Austin…on my calendar
Black golf shirt with an 82nd Airborne Division patch and RETIRED.
It’s a deal!
I might be a little later, but if you need an update on how my day’s going, call my mobile at 1-800-673-3763. If you get voicemail please leave a message (with your number) and I’ll call you back.
Cheers!
I gave several points to refute your ignorance but I understand your hate for me makes it hard for you to read.
I wrote a nice letter to the editor last year explaining how little a presidents policies impact oil prices as oil prices are set globally. But you have made clear your poor understanding of economics in the past so I am not shocked you still let your personal bias override your intelligence.
Best wishes.
You don’t know the first thing about economics.
It’s a shame what the Dems are doing to our country with all their lies about global warming.
There are four types of Climate Activists: the political elites who sell gloom and doom in their effort to control folks, the dishonest researchers who make a great living selling global warming fiction, those who suffer from climate anxiety or dystopia, and the brainwashed.
Don’t worry, Austen. By 2030 you will own nothing, and like it….
That’s their plan.
Austin, the Democrats don’t give a rats ass about you, me or any other non socialist citizen. You can bet a bunch of them in DC are getting fat over their ridiculous whining and other BS ploys to destroy this country.
Lying is what democrats do, and having had lots of practice, they do it very well.
Not as well as Republicans lie. You know…the big lie about having evidence that the election was stolen when didn’t and still don’t.
Wayne, Trump is a democrat? Who bigger a liar is there?
Uh, the current senile old cretin in the White House? As he laundered millions in bribes through ten shell companies “owned” by every one of his family members (except the unacknowledged granddaughter), he dares to claim that he knows nothing about it all.
And in one instance he’s even on videotape bragging about leveraging US taxpayer money to fire a Ukrainian justice official who was closing in on his son’s corruption!
