This kind of goes along with what I called in last week about, it’s ironic that the Tuesday, Dec. 20 meeting of Sharon Hightower getting in Nancy Vaughan’s face. And here it is the middle of January, and we haven’t seen anything in the News & Record. You know, are these kinds of things kept quiet by the liberal press. And, really, I don’t expect to see much in the newspaper once it goes to Winston-Salem to be printed. So, all I can say is, Mr. Roy Carroll, if there is any way, I think it’s time for you to start printing a daily paper, because as it shows here in your article about Hightower, you just don’t find that kind of stuff in the News & Record. Now that Barack Hussein Obama’s presidency is, thankfully, reaching its conclusion, I was thinking the other day about a statement one of my wonderful aunts, who is now sadly deceased, said not too long after Obama had taken office and started to settle in in 2009. She commented on how the mainstream media was reacting to Obama. She said, quote, they act like he’s just a little lower than Jesus Christ, end of quote. I think that speaks volumes about the mainstream liberal media over the last eight years.

I barely did get out of high school. One reason, the Korean War was going on, and they needed people to be drafted. But my understanding, when you’re born over there, your dad is a Muslim, you’re a Muslim. And I think it’s very obvious, the whole world knows, that Obama’s daddy was a Muslim. If there is some way these people can violate some law, and we could pick them back up, wherever Obama moves, they ought to rent the house next door, or buy it, and lock them people up there, right where he could see them every day. When a city employee retires and then starts a business that provides services that that same city uses, that city should be exempt from being one of his customers. Because that is nothing but crony capitalism is all that is at its finest. Somebody retires from the city and starts a business, and the next thing you know, the city he retires from is one of his biggest customers. Gee, how could that possibly be? Could it be that he knows someone at the city who is making sure that he gets business? And, then, the next thing you know, another city employee retires, and then he goes to work for that person. Well, after the first 50 minutes of this press conference, after he berated the media, talked about false stories and said that all these things that he’s being hearing about the Russian hacking are lies, now he’s got his lawyer up there telling how he’s not having any conflict of interest in his business. Sounds like a distraction, attempt to get everyone away from being able to see exactly what Rex Tillerson would say to the senators who were trying to ask him questions about his confirmation. So, I’ve been listening to the Senate committee hearings for the confirmation of the secretary of state, the secretary of defense, the secretary of the intelligence agency. And in almost all of these hearings, the various Senate members are asking questions, or making comments relative to the safety and the security of our nation, and even of the world, and talking about the bad characters, and evil characters in the world. They’ve almost stated that they know there’s a problem with Russia, perhaps with China, with Iran, with North Korea. And it’s almost as if they’re asking these nominees, can you do something about it? What it says to me is these senators, they all know it’s a problem. They all know that our national defense has suffered, and they’re setting up there and have been setting there for at least the last eight years doing absolutely nothing.

Yes, as far as your article on the county’s economic development organization favoring High Point. It really doesn’t matter. All any company has to do is to look at the cost of utilities in High Point, which are in the neighborhood of somewhere from 20 percent to 25 percent higher than Greensboro. And then take a look at High Point’s fee and tax burden, which are over 50 percent more than what you pay in Greensboro, and it’s easy to see companies are simply not going to go there. They’re leaving in droves. Nobody wants to open a business in High Point. Nobody wants to live in High Point. It’s too expensive. And you can recruit people all you want, but unless you are willing to give them a huge monetary incentive, they are not going to High Point. So don’t worry about that.

I read your article about DSS’s request for additional workers. I was disappointed with the Republican commissioners questioning the high Medicaid and food stamps caseload. Where have you been? County commissioners didn’t give pay raises for seven-plus years to DSS workers. So they do qualify. And they do need food stamps and Medicaid. Number two, the constant crimination of workers for minor, or no infractions, you Republican commissioners, in my opinion gave DSS Director Heather Skeens their blessing to terminate employees that had longevity. The training of new employees was short. Ms. Skeens stated that it takes three weeks to train individuals. You can’t learn policy and state systems in three weeks. The county has wasted a million dollars paying overtime to all these work staff in 2015, 2016. And yet they didn’t get a decent pay raise.

Yes, I hope Mike Mabe didn’t break his arm patting himself on the back for the snow removal. I mean, let’s face it. The snow wasn’t that heavy. And as far as getting everything cleared out, well, yeah, when you don’t come down and do the side streets, Broadacres Drive, one swipe around and back. And we would have been cleared by Sunday night, definitely Monday night, the road would have been dry because of the people that had to use it Wednesday. Still it was worse. Never a plow came down through here. And in a five-minute time on Monday, looking from my place, Goometown Road, there’s three plows went down through there. And only one had his plow down, and he wasn’t even plowing anything. So, Mike, I hope your arm is getting better if it’s broken.

I’d like to discuss a couple of things I saw in the Beep. I see where somebody is wanting to know why they don’t build Section 8 housing in the high-dollar communities like Sedgefield, Grandover and the other ones. It’s simply because Section 8 housing is low-income housing. Low-income housing. I know nobody wants to tell this, and don’t want to draw attention to it, but low-income housing generally draws two things: drugs and trouble. That’s why they don’t put it in there. Most of the people that’s living in the other communities of Sedgefield, and Grandover, and even the lower-income communities, they moved out of that situation. Because they don’t want to have to put up with it. And they don’t want it in their neighborhoods. It’s a simple fact. Anyone that’s got an ounce of common sense knows that. If you don’t believe it, look on the news today. Who do you see committing the biggest majority of the crimes?

Another thing. Been talking about the Section 8 housing. People moved on from lower-income housing. That’s where people start out with. They did get out, and they work hard, and they earn a living, and they go out and try to raise their family, and they want to move them in the safest, most moral places they can possibly put them. They don’t want people around them influencing with drugs. They don’t want any people wandering the streets in the middle of the night. And they don’t want the stuff for their family. If we had a real president, maybe he would have addressed these issues. But he has no concern for that. All Barack Hussein Obama has ever been concerned with was getting racial tensions to escalate to the worst it’s been in 50 years. And to interfere with everybody else’s business other than what he should be doing in this country.
