We Need Obamacare
Dear Editor,
Before the Affordable Care Act (ACA), millions of Americans were charged more or denied health care coverage because they had a pre-existing condition like diabetes, arthritis or cancer. Now, elected officials – with the support of the Trump administration – are trying to send us back to that failed system by overturning the ACA in court.
Now, more than ever, we need our elected leaders, like Sen. Thom Tillis, to protect the ACA. But sadly, he’s nowhere to be found. Instead of protecting affordable health care, Tillis has repeatedly voted to repeal the ACA, and has actively voted to make care more expensive for North Carolina seniors.
It’s time we hold politicians like Sen. Tillis accountable. If the ACA is overturned, 1.7 million North Carolinians face the failed system we know doesn’t work. People will lose their health coverage, premiums will skyrocket for those with pre-existing conditions and too many struggling North Carolinians won’t get the care they need. North Carolinians need a fighter, but it’s clear we can’t count on Sen. Tillis.

Health insurance is not a right. If you wait until you get sick before you want health insurance, it is thing same as tearing up your car, and then wanting insurance to pay for it. Then it is not insurance, it is taxpayer funded health care on demand. Socialism is great until you run out of everyone else’s money. Speaking for myself, you can’t have any more of mine. I earned it, so you earn yours.
This note is to Debbie Denton ,If you would turn your tv to Fox and get current news you would see that the Obama care was continuing to escalate.Trump with Tillis’s help has stated that preexisting conditions would be covered and the choice for a carrier would be your choice and the cheaper.All those fake channels with fake journalists espouse the same sermon you are blathering about in your piece.Get a grip and get over the fact of Dem overthrow of Tillis and Trump.I look forward to a landslide for both in November.
